Before Your Surgery
Here are some general guidelines to help you and your family prepare for your visit to the City Place Surgery Center.

• Important to bring your driver's license and insurance card(s) with you.
• You may be asked to bring a deposit on the day of surgery. Do not bring any extra money or other valuables unless instructed to do so.
• Do not eat or drink anything after midnight prior to your surgery. This includes candy, mints and gum.
• This also applies if you are having local anesthesia.
• Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes and slip-on shoes. For shoulder and elbow surgeries, please wear a loose, button down shirt.
• Do not wear jewelry
• If you take any new medications prior to your surgery, please notify your doctor immediately.
• Call your surgeon if you become ill, develop a cold, fever or respiratory problem before your surgery.
• If your child is having surgery, feel free to bring a favorite stuffed animal or security blanket for added reassurance.
• Limit the number of people who accompany you. To maximize the comfort of all visitors, we suggest that adult patients be accompanied by only one person. However, we do welcome both parents of a pediatric patient.
• Arrange for someone to drive you home and spend your recovery night with you, unless otherwise instructed. Cabs are not an option—it must be a responsible party.
